brooch

This week I did a 4 day class making jewellery. It is the first time I have ever done any jewellery making and I had such a wonderful time! This was my first project - a brooch, my design using copper, brass and silver rivets.
During the week we learnt all the basic techniques and I managed to make a total of 3 rings and a small pendant as well as this brooch. I am hooked!

It is a nice contrast from working in fabric - I have also made a couple of small pieces that I have in mind for sewing onto a small quilt so the 2 processes will be complimentary!
I will post my other pieces soon!

What a nice piece. I too, thought it looked like the inspiration might have come from some of your quilted work.

Thanks for all your wonderful feedback - especially as I haven't posted for a while!
I love that I will get inspiration for jewellery from my textile work.
